The book launch, organized by Wayne State U.P., will take place during the American Folklore Society annual conference in Providence, Rhodes Island (17-19 October 2013).

Di seguito, nel volantino, il programma dettagliato: iniziative della “giornata machiavelliana” promossa da “Testimonianze” (insieme al Comune di S. Casciano, a quello di Firenze ed al Comitato Machiavelli 2013) per il prossimo 19 Settembre.
come elemento qualificante della giornata,
sia al Trekking sia alla presentazione parteciperanno due classi (più di quaranta ragazzi e ragazze) dell’ Istituto “E. Balducci” di Pontassieve. Non solo un tocco di freschezza, ma anche una possibilità di interazione, di confronto e di dialogo con significativi gruppi di giovani su importanti temi storico-culturali. Naturalmente, è nostro auspicio che alla giornata partecipino molte altre persone, delle più diverse collocazioni ed età, nell’ambito di una logica di interazione e di scambio.

Alla presentazione del volume della rivista dedicato a “RIPENSARE ‘IL PRINCIPE’ DI MACHIAVELLI NELL’ ETA’ DELLA GLOBALIZZAZIONE”, l’ingresso è LIBERO.

IATIS, the International Association for Translation and Intercultural Studies, is pleased to announce the online publication of the TENTH issue of New Voices in Translation Studies. This special anniversary also marks the first time that the journal has published a second issue within one calendar year. Issue 10 consists of six articles by young researchers and fifteen abstracts of recently submitted Ph.D. theses. The six papers of this issue fall into three broad areas of research: literary translation, translator training and audio-visual translation. The fifteen abstracts may be summarized with the following keywords: agency, Australian Sign Language interpreters, corpus-based translation research, dubbing, explicitation, interpreter training, lexical cohesion, technical translation, theatre translation, the translator’s turn, translating North Korea, translation and publishing, translation as meaning assignment, translation for tourism, translation revision. New Voices in Translation Studies is a refereed electronic journal co-sponsored by IATIS and the Centre for Translation and Textual Studies (CTTS) at Dublin City University. The aim of the journal is to disseminate high quality original work by new researchers in Translation Studies to a wide audience. Copyediting & Proofreading: Similar Yet Different
When it comes to the many editorial services Bookmasters offers, most authors have a fairly clear idea of what “indexing,” “accuracy checking,” and “securing permissions” entail. But authors sometimes stumble over the differences between “copyediting” and “proofreading.”
“After all, it’s the same thing,” they’ll say. “In both instances, you read my book and point out and fix any errors. Right?”
Wrong, but the confusion is understandable (although a bit frustrating at times). On the surface, it may seem as if the processes are identical because, yes, each professional is reviewing and correcting the words on a page in some way. But that’s where the similarities end.
Let’s take each process individually and compare what the two offer (and don’t offer):
