ad Imperia una NOTTE DI PAROLE E NOTE

L’ Associazione Culturale Ergo Sum presieduta da Paolo Strescino
presenta giovedì 4 dicembre alle 21, presso il Centro Culturale Polivalente in Piazza Duomo ad Imperia, una serata dedicata al profumo delle parole e delle note che avrà come ospiti il pianista Leonardo Ferretti, l’interprete Alida Civile e la poetessa Marzia Brunengo, autrice della raccolta La perfetta imperfetta edizioni Ennepilibri.
Leonardo Ferretti è una giovane promessa della nostra Provincia che nel 2003 si è brillantemente diplomato presso il Conservatorio Nicolò Paganini di Genova in Pianoforte, ha proseguito gli studi diplomandosi nel 2006 in Clavicembalo riuscendo, spinto dalla sua passione per la musica, ad ottenere nel 2007 sia il diploma di 2° livello in Pianoforte indirizzo teatrale che quello in Didattica della Musica. Ha studiato sotto la guida dei Maestri Massimo Paderni e Riccardo Marsano e tra le varie esperienze vanta la frequenza dell’Alto corso di perfezionamento Pianistico del Maestro Boris Bloch, pianista e insegnante di fama mondiale. Nell’ estate 2004 ha partecipato, grazie ad una borsa di studio, al “Casalmaggiore International Festival”, corso di alta formazione pianistica, promosso da Mario Delli Ponti e Taras Gabora docente del Conservatorio di Vancouver; qui ha eseguito concerti sia come solista sia come pianista di musica da camera. Nella stagione 2004/5 ha preso parte all’opera “Norma”di Bellini al Teatro Carlo Felice di Genova in qualità di maestro collaboratore tirocinante e in Febbraio 2006, ha ripetuto l’esperienza nella “Madama Butterfly” di Puccini, ha partecipato nel novembre dello stesso anno ad un evento con l’Orchestra Sinfonica di San Remo suonando come solista.

Le lame del Re. Sabri & Spade dell’Armata Sabauda

È un lavoro che non ha precedenti. Indaga su un periodo tematico mai esplorato nella totalità e nel dettaglio minuto. Per la prima volta ricostruisce e documenta, con pignoleria quasi maniacale, l’evoluzione di oltre 82 armi bianche militari, adottate dall’armata sabauda dal 1560 al 1831.

Spazia dalle origini della Milizia Paesana di Emanuele Filiberto di Savoia, rifondatore dello Stato sabaudo e artefice del suo esercito nazionale, fino ai primi mesi del regno di Carlo Alberto, attraverso 271 anni di storia, governata da dieci Sovrani successivi.

È un’opera che fra le sue curiosità permette di scoprire che:

– Emanuele Filiberto realizzò il sogno di Machiavelli

– Vittorio Amedeo I inventò le caserme

– Carlo Emanuele II fondò la prima Accademia militare al mondo

– Vittorio Amedeo II, il 21 giugno 1709, istituì i modelli che crearono le “armi d’ordinanza”, ma dai quali discenderanno anche il 730 e il modello Unico

– Le regole per ottenere un appalto erano: far il massimo ribasso;

– Il dare in garanzia i propri beni e quelli dei familiari; avere un fideiussore che garantisse il lavoro in caso di morte

– La Compagnia Ussari del 1734 fu l’effimero

– Lo scultore François Ladatte, autore del cervo di Stupinigi, fu il primo designer industriale: forgiò sorprendenti sciabole di fanteria

– I coltellacci di Marina armarono le prime Guardie urbane di Torino

– Il milanese Fumagalli fece fortuna con le armi piemontesi sequestrate da Napoleone ai Savoia

– Carlo Alberto liquidò le sciabole politicamente scorrette perché ancora in stile austriaco

…. e molto altro ancora.

Conference attracts favourable response

September 2009 international conference in Berlin

The response to the international conference for interpreters and translators, being hosted by the Federal Association of Interpreters and translators (BDÜ) from September 11 to 13, 2009, has been very positive. Several educational establishments, translation service providers and suppliers to interpreters and translators have welcomed the decision of the BDÜ to organise a major event for more than 1,000 participants – the first of its kind for some time.
 
Many have already indicated their desire to attend and are finalising sponsorship agreements and the arrangements for exhibition stands, taking part in the job exchange, etc.. The first banners have been published on our website. Further information on registering for the exhibition and job exchange is available on the conference website: www.interpreting-the-future.com .
One of the keynote speakers is the Director-General of the EU’s Directorate General for Translation, Juhani Lönnroth. The presentations will be interpreted into German, English and French, and other languages as required.

The Saturday evening entertainment will be provided by Gayle Tufts with an extract from her current show, "Gayle Tufts rockt" ( www.gayle-tufts.de ).
 
Those wishing to attend the conference can register from the beginning of 2009 ("How to register" button on the conference website).

Call for papers extended

In view of the many inquiries submitted by speakers, the Federal Association of Interpreters and Translators (BDÜ) has extended the deadline of the call for papers for its September 2009 international conference in Berlin until January 6, 2009. When the initial deadline expired on November 15, 2008, more than 80 proposals for workshops and presentations had already been submitted, about 30 percent of them from abroad. Their subject matter ranges from developing a distinctive profile for translation service providers supplying domestic and foreign clients, the machine translation of collocations, interpreting in the form of mediation for migrants, and working with IATE, the world’s largest multilingual terminology database.

Abstracts can be submitted online with the form on the conference website www.interpreting-the-future.com . Simply give a brief outline of the subject in no more than 2,000 characters, indicate the speaker’s personal details and, in the case of workshops, state the goals, content and format (keywords only), and the required media. For inclusion in the conference proceedings, the presentation manuscripts must be submitted by July 1, 2009. Various suggested topics are contained on the conference website under "Call for Papers". You are also free to propose subjects of your own.

The abstracts submitted thus far will be published on the conference website from the beginning of December. Visitors to the site can vote for their "Favourites". A jury will make the final selection of presentations and notify the speakers of the accepted proposals by January 30, 2009.

04-11-2008 – Preparatory conferences and workshops for the 48th session of the International Conference on Education (25-28 November 2008, Geneva) have been held around the world.

 

The 9 workshops and 4 conferences included over 900 participants from 128 countries. The global reach of these preparatory events is fitting for the conference entitled “Inclusive Education: The Way of the Future ”.

The International Conference on Education is a major international forum for education policy dialogue among Ministers of Education and other stakeholders (researchers, practitioners, representatives of intergovernmental organizations and civil society).

Concerto di musica gospel

L’associazione di promozione sociale Cima del Carmel presenta il prossimo sabato 15 novembre, presso le Artificerie Almagià di Ravenna, a partire dalle ore 18.00, un concerto di musica Gospel a cui parteciperanno importanti gruppi italiani e francesi: Neema, Mbuta Kamoka, Bishop Peter, Rev. Wilson, Rev. Anselmo, ecc..
L’iniziativa intende promuovere e valorizzare un aspetto culturale che si riferisce sia alla musica religiosa che emerse nelle chiese afro-americane sin dagli anni Trenta sia alla musica religiosa composta e suonata attualmente da artisti appartenenti a gruppi evangelici-pentecostali presenti sul territorio nazionale ed europeo.
Il concerto, che ospiterà anche un seminario, sarà l’occasione per festeggiare il settimo anno della fondazione dell’Associazione culturale Cima del Carmel.
All’evento è stato concesso il Patrocinio del Comune di Ravenna.
