SECOND CALL FOR PAPERS
The conference committee is looking for paper proposals in the following topic areas: 1. MANAGEMENT TOPICS – Optimal HR structure of a LSP: In-house team, project management, Support functions (sales, IT). In-house versus outsourcing. Bringing in management talent from outside the industry – Recruitment policies – how to recruit excellent project managers Technology from the management perspective: Different solutions: integration; ROI; cloud or local? Software: buy or build? – How to prepare a company to integrate machine translation (MT) in a human translation environment – LSPs doing business together – opportunities, pitfalls – Finances for LSPs: managing growth and profitability; access to investment capital -Time management for LSPs: practical tips. In all instances we are particularly looking for case studies
2. SALES-RELATED TOPICS – Selling on and for the web: from CRM, to SEO and Social Media Marketing. – The new trend of Service Design. Are we selling services or products? Can we design services as products? – New markets, new opportunities, innovative solutions – Defining and selling the right mix of human and machine translation – opportunities, pitfalls. -Choosing the right sales methodology (as proposed by various consultants and sales training companies). – Overview on the existing online marketplaces for corporate translation services.
3. MASTER CLASSES The committee is seeking trainers who can lead master classes (up to three hours) look at the following areas. – Sales: How do I define my own unique selling proposition (USP) – Management: Outlook management for Translation Business Executives – Sales: Flash training on doing a translation sales pitch – Technology: Machine Translation Integration
The committee is also happy to receive proposals for shorter workshops (45 minutes long).
